Midnight in Paris

Last Autumn-Winter was all about the early 1960s and womanly, tailored pieces. Never before had a television show (need I say it? – MAD MEN) influenced the catwalks so much. This season is a very different tale. The 1920s was an iconic period in women’s fashion. From intricate beadwork to decadent headwear, it was an era of true understated glamour. Downton Abbey showcases costume design on the verge of this era, and HBO series Boardwalk Empire wholly captures this fashion zeitgeist.

I recently saw Woody Allen film Midnight in Paris. Marion Cotillard looks as thought she belongs in that era.

The Opera bag and the embellished Natasha top, both by Clements Ribiero, look like works of art. They really capture the 1920s age of sophistication
